FAQs About Trash, Recycling, and Backyard Pickup
Everything you need to know about Curbie’s waste management services, including service options, billing, holiday schedules, and neighborhood-specific requirements.
What neighborhoods and areas does Curbie Sanitation serve?
Curbie Sanitation provides residential trash and recycling services exclusively in unincorporated Chatham County, Georgia. Service areas include, but are not limited to: Burnside Island, Berwick, Dutch Island, Georgetown, Isle of Hope, Nottingham, Oatland Island, Southbridge, Skidaway Island, Talahi Island, Whitfield Avenue Area, Whitmarsh Island, and Wilmington Island. We do not service incorporated cities. If you’re unsure whether your address is in our service area, please contact our team for clarification.
What is the difference between curbside and backyard trash pickup?
Curbside pickup means you bring your 96-gallon Curbie cart to the street for weekly collection, while backyard pickup means our driver retrieves your cart from your yard or designated area—perfect for homes with HOA restrictions or mobility needs. Backyard service is our premium option, often chosen by residents who want to maintain neighborhood aesthetics or need assistance moving carts. Both options ensure reliable, on-schedule weekly trash removal.
How does Curbie’s recycling service work, and what is single-stream recycling?
Curbie offers bi-weekly curbside or backyard recycling as an add-on to your trash service. We provide a 65-gallon recycling cart for easy collection, and all recyclables can be placed together—no sorting required—thanks to our single-stream recycling process. This service is ideal for eco-conscious households in Savannah’s unincorporated neighborhoods who want a simple, reliable way to recycle without extra hassle.
How do billing, payments, and account management work with Curbie?
Billing for all Curbie services is managed through Trashbilling.com, a secure, user-friendly online platform. Customers receive automatic billing reminders and can manage payments online. Our transparent pricing means no hidden fees—just select your service tier and pay monthly. If you need help with your account, our local Savannah office staff are always available for support.
What happens to trash and recycling pickup schedules on holidays?
Our schedule is Monday–Friday, including all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. On the years that these holidays fall during the work week, our schedule will be off by one day after the holiday until the following week. If you choose to do garbage and recycling with us, your pick-up day will be the same day of the week for both, with trash being once a week and recycling every other week.
Can Curbie Sanitation accommodate special needs or HOA requirements?
Absolutely. Our backyard pickup service is designed to help residents comply with HOA rules regarding cart visibility and is also a great option for those with mobility challenges. If you have a unique request or require ADA accommodations, let us know—our local Savannah team will work with you to find the right solution for your property and needs.
How do I sign up for a new service or switch from another provider?
Signing up is simple—just contact Curbie by phone or online. Our team will confirm your address is within our Savannah service area, help you choose the right tier (curbside or backyard, with or without recycling), and schedule your cart delivery. Many customers switch to Curbie after unreliable service from larger companies, and we’re committed to making your transition as smooth as possible.
